I was wandering around the CES show floor this year, getting shots of some cool new drones and dancing robots, when I turned the corner and there they were.
I know a lot of people thought this day would never come but Skully is Back!
How are they back you ask? Well, just like NUVIS, they got some angel investors, that are actual motorcycle people, that have breathed new life into this formally failed startup.
Who is Energica Motorcycles? I asked that same question when I ran into their booth at the Long Beach Progressive International Motorcycle Show. This Italian company, with roots in Ferrari and Formula 1 racing, has the goal to produce the world’s best electric Superbike.
The Multistrada has been a top sell for Ducati over the years. It’s no surprise that the Multistrada 1260 and Enduro Pro have received some very cool upgrades for 2018.

A this year’s Progressive International Motorcycle Show, Royal Enfield discussed their commitment to the Middleweight. class. As the number of new riders goes down each year, Royal Enfield is looking for a way to entice new and returning riders into the sport.
Royal Enfield has had this model in development for a while. The Himalayan is quite a departure from their previously all street line up. At this year’s Progressive International Motorcycle Show, they unveiled their first ever enduro model for the US.
The Himalayan get’s their LS410 (Long Stroke) engine. It a single-cylinder, oil-and-air-cooled SOHC, Fuel Injected, 411 cc engine that produces 24.5 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 26 ft lbs of torque. Like all of Royal Enfield’s bikes, this is no powerhouse. It’s designed for reliability and low maintenance.
For those of you who are slightly vertically impaired, worry not. The 2018 Himalayan sports a 31.5″ seat height. It accomplishes that while still having over 7″ of suspension travel and sporting a 21″ front wheel.
The best part is that the 2018 Himalayan is priced at only $4,499.
Royal Enfield unveiled their all new 2018 GT650 Continental and Interceptor models at this year’s Progressive International Motorcycle Show. Gone is the single cylinder, 500cc engine. In its place is an all new 648cc Twin.

Royal Enfield did not just stuff a bigger engine in the old chassis…no! This is an all new motorcycle. At only 47hp, it’s not going to break any speed records. I don’t that is their intention. This bike is designed to reach the masses. with an MSRP BELOW $7,000, it just may do that!
